There are many Restoration companies out there. I, for one do not want to discredit the other amazing companies out there, that work very hard to bring a satisfying result to their customers. However, I can speak for the company I work for. Two years in now, and I can say that the team effort of the SERVPRO of Oak Park Ferndale staff is outstanding. Yes, it can be hard work. Steam Cleaning Tile

SERVPRO of Oak Park Ferndale steam clean a tile floor in a basement sewage back up.

A sewage back up in this basement caused a Bio situation and a horrible smell. SERVPRO Technicians first spray the area with a disinfectant to minimize the smell. Using a special machine they extract the nasty mess off the floor. Some areas need power washing depending on how bad the back up was. The Technician then disinfects again with products used by SERVPRO and steam cleans the space. For this job it was tile. If you suspect any clogs or drains that are not draining properly, standing water in the area after you shower we highly suggest you call a plumber to take a look before the back up happens. Unfortunately, there will be those times when you have no idea what's happening "down under" (In the ground) That's why you call SERVPRO! Let the PRO'S SERVE you!

School had a large water loss. Our SERVPRO team of technicians came in to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

I have learned in this business above all, expect the unexpected. Before I came to work for SERVPRO I did not give much thought to the everyday occurrences of the different types of losses that go on in this industry. Why should I choose SERVPRO as my go to Restoration Company?

For those of you who do not know, each SERVPRO is individually owned and operated. With, 1,800 locations all over the United States.

This past June and July of 2021 here in Detroit, Grosse Pointe and other major cities has been one of the largest floods we have had since 2014. I remember the last one well, because my city was one of the cities affected at that time. Lucky, for me, I missed this one.

Many, home and businesses were affected by the floods, causing major damage, from roofs leaking, to ceilings falling, water damage and mold to name a few.

Something else you may be unaware of. SERVPRO has EMERGENCY STORM TEAMS put in place that drive in from all over the US when a devastation like this happens to help all the local locations so they are not overwhelmed by the calls and jobs that pour in. Beautiful wood walls must come down.

Restoring is what SERVPRO is accredited for. However, in many situations the damage is so overwhelming there is no other obvious choice but to tear everything out. In this photo, this customer took an immense loss due to a water burst of an old pipe. Beautiful wood walls had to come down.

Water can be one of the hardest situations to be in. It is usually clear (unless it is dirty water) and the eye can not always detect where it goes. Therefore, behind a wall it causes the most damage. Insulation, wood frames and wiring can be affected.

Water loss can cause other problems to arise such as MOLD. In an area as big as this one where the water crept through just about every part of this room, moisture is present when the area is really wet and that is when mold thrives.
